GAC Motor will launch its entry into the Brazilian market on May 23 this year; met with President Lula in China
The Chinese automaker of electric vehicles (Guangzhou Automobile Group) motor plans to install its own factory in Brazil and start its operations in the 2nd semester of 2026.
The hammer is not yet beaten, but executives of the company that met with the president (PT) this Monday (12.mai.2025) said that the state of Goiás is the favorite to receive the installation.
The agenda was the 1st official meeting of Lula with Chinese businessmen. To the Poder360, GAC executive Alex Zhou said the brand will announce the company’s entry into Brazil on May 23 this year, with the opening of an office in São Paulo.
According to Zhou, the idea of the brand is to set up a factory with the full production chain in Brazil. It will not be a mounting factory. The only part that will be imported will be the batteries of the electric vehicles.
As a result, GAC will join BYD and GWM as Chinese automotive brands focused on operating vehicle electrification in Brazil.
The company plans to launch its models in the Brazilian market in 2025.
