President says his government and the management of the Chinese Communist Party have improved the people’s quality of life
The President (PT) compared his electoral victories with the Chinese Communist Revolution of 1949. In a closing speech of the Brazil-China Business Forum, in Beijing, this Monday (12.MAI.2025), the petista said that his government and the Chinese Communist Party were responsible for improving the quality of life of their peoples.
“It’s the only reason I believe it was worth the Chinese Revolution of 1949. What was worth our elections in Brazil is proving that when a government has social commitments and does not forget the origins of those who have come to power and want to rule for all, things get better.”said Lula.
The petista said the PCP (Communist Party of China) has managed to take 800 million Chinese from poverty in the last 40 years. About his governments, Lula said that 54 million Brazilians left the line of misery.
“There are 2 countries that are committed to solving the problem of poverty that has hammered the lives of these countries for a long time. It is remarkable that China has taken 800 million people out of poverty, as it is remarkable that Brazil in 10 years took 54 million hungry people in my country.”he declared.
Throughout his speech, Lula also praised the partnerships between Brazil and China sewn since his first term. The petista said he was the 1st global leader to fulfill China’s request to be recognized as a market economy.
Lula has been in China since Saturday night (10.mai). On Sunday (11.mai) there was no official agendas. He participated in meetings with Chinese entrepreneurs and China’s Head of Industry and Commerce, Gao Yunlong, this 2nd (12.MAI).
On Tuesday (13.MAI), Lula will meet with the president of China, Xi Jinping (PCCH). In the speech, he said he will take advantage of the occasion to “to thank” to the Chinese leader for confidence in Brazil.
