In response to Michel Temer’s support for a unique right-wing candidacy in 2026, Pastor Silas Malafaia published on his X (former Twitter) a message to the former president, stating that he “forgot” that is former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro who is ahead in the polls and “gathers the votes of the pockets, right women and evangelicals.”

Boconists have avoided establishing a “priority order” of candidates to replace former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who is ineligible, in the 2026 presidential dispute. Without indicating a successor, Bolsonaro maintains political capital and, consequently, bargaining power among the suitors to the Plateau.

Michelle and the governor of Sao Paulo, Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans), are the ones who appear. Tarcisio has been claiming that he intends to state reelection. Already former first lady has participated more actively in the demonstrations called by Jair Bolsonaro.

Michelle was even mentioned by her husband as a possible presidential candidate. The former president said he would support her if the Civil House was with him if she was elected. However, in later statements, Bolsonaro has re -placed himself as the only possible option for the election.

In the Federal Supreme Court (STF), the former president remains ineligible by decision of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) by 2030.

The pastor’s change of positioning, one of Bolsonaro’s closest “counselors”, occurred facing Temer’s movement to join five governors in search of a third way for the next elections.

This Sunday, 11, the former president told the program Free channelfrom the Band, which has been sought by the “presidential” governors to guess, and recommends that all names launch a unique project for Brazil.

“I see that in the conversations I had with some governors, they are very willing to such a thing. If five candidates come out of this side and a single candidate on the other side, of course the candidate on the other side will have an extraordinary advantage,” he said.

Temer said he talked to the governors of Paraná, Ratinho Júnior (PSD), Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (Novo), and Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil), as well as Tarcisio, and a few months ago with the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, who has just joined the PSD.

In the same interview, Temer stated that he himself is not intended to launch candidacy next year, and has already “fulfilled his role” going through virtually every position of the Republic in 32 years in public life.

Temer assumed the presidency of the Republic in 2016, after the impeachment of petista Dilma Rousseff, whom he was deputy. He left Planalto in 2018, with low popularity and without competing in that year’s elections.

Now, his name “viralized” after being quoted in a post by electoral consultant Wilson Pedroso as a possible candidate for the Plateau. How it showed the Estadão column
