The former federal deputy left on Sunday (11) the hospital where he was hospitalized for almost two years in Rio de Janeiro (Supreme Federal Court) Alexandre de Moraes to serve the sentence at home.
This Saturday (10), Moraes granted house arrest to the former leader of the humanitarian basis. According to lawyer João Pedro Coutinho Barreto, Jefferson left the hospital in the morning. He should be in the city of Comendador Levy Gasparian (RJ), where he has residence.
On Friday (9), the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) told what the Samaritan Hospital Botafogo in Rio sent different medical reports-last month-that “draw severe clinical condition and justify the flexibility of the custody regime.”
The medical opinion indicates the occurrence of seizures, malnutrition, depressive syndrome and loss of appetite, recurring urinary infections, inflammation in the mouth, collangitis (infection of channels that carry the bile to the liver) and myocardial necrosis (death of heart cells due to lack of oxygen).
Previous medical reports also point to history of testis, pancreas, thyroid, colon, and depressive disorder cancer history, among other health problems.
The former deputy was, but received the right to house arrest in January 2022 for health reasons. In October of the same year, he returned to the regime closed for reiterating the rules of house arrest.
At the time, Jefferson resisted prison trying to comply with the decision. He surrendered to the authorities at the end of the day and was taken to the Benfica prison in the north of Rio de Janeiro.
Jefferson was from last year to nine years in prison for attack on the exercise of powers, homophobia, slander and incitement to the crime.
The politician had already been. The former deputy launched himself to the Presidency of the Republic in 2022, but had his candidacy barred by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), which considered him ineligible. Jefferson was replaced by Father Kelmon (PTB).
