A diplomatic “BRA de Fer” has been in progress in recent days between Europe and in order for the latter to accept a 30 -day ceasefire to have the necessary diplomatic conversations. Vladimir Putin between Russia and giving him, while in his new intervention on Sunday afternoon (11/5), US President Donald Trump is pressing for Volodimir Zelenski.
More specifically, the US president “begins to doubt” that Ukraine will end up with a ceasefire agreement with Russia and urged the Ukrainian leadership to meet with Russian representatives on Thursday in Turkey to negotiate.
“I am starting to doubt that Ukraine will reach an agreement with Putin,” the US president wrote in his post on the Truth Social platform. “Russia’s (Vladimir) Putin does not want a ceasefire agreement with Ukraine but probably wants to meet Thursday, in Turkey, to negotiate a possible end to bloodshed,” he added. After this meeting, the two sides, as well as European leaders and the US, will be able to determine whether or not it is possible or not, he added.
Volodimir Zelenski did not take long to respond and through his post on X, he says he is ready to meet Putin in Turkey.
We await a full and lasting ceasefire, starting from tomorrow, to provide the necessary basis for diplomacy. There is no point in prolonging the killings. And I will be waiting for Putin in Türkiye on Thursday. Personally. I hope that this time the Russians will not look for…

Vladimir Putin’s maneuver
Ignoring the ultimatum sent by Kiev’s “willing” alliance for unconditional 30 -day truce starting tomorrow, Vladimir Putin is maneuvering and calling for direct negotiations with Ukraine.
“We propose the negotiations to begin without delay, at the latest on Thursday, May 15, in Constantinople, where they had been held, but not completed.”
The Russian president again accused Ukraine of being responsible for the impasse in the negotiations and left a spread against European leaders.
“The decision now depends on the Ukrainian authorities and their staff, who are guided by their personal political ambitions and not on the interests of their people.”
“First ceasefire and then conversations”
Brussels seems to insist on their proposal for a truce before the conversations. Specifically, a spokesman for the Commission told Mega that the EU is supporting the unconditional ceasefire for 30 days from Monday.
He added that the Ukrainian president has accepted the proposal of Europeans without conditions and that is why Russia must now respond clearly to the issue of truce.
He concluded that in order to open the way for peace talks, the ceasefire is the only condition.
