Last night, May 12, the Sanctuary of Fatima was once again the scene of one of the largest manifestations of faith in the world, bringing together about 270,000 pilgrims in the prayer enclosure. The moment was marked by emotion, hope, and images that quickly became viral on social networks.
In the return of international birthday pilgrimages, Cardinal D. Jaime Spengler, president of the Brazilian Episcopal Conference, left a strong appeal to world peace, the proximity between peoples and the spirit of forgiveness and concord.
One of the most symbolic moments of the celebration was the blessing of the new Cruz in the presbytery of Capelinha da Apparitions, held at the beginning of the ceremony by the cardinal himself.
In all, 173 groups of pilgrims, coming from the five continents, signed up for the sanctuary services, a demonstration of faith and devotion that continues to transform Fatima into a point of spiritual encounter into the whole world.
