Renewal of the EDP concessionaire contract, which operates in 70 cities, has a favorable recommendation, but needs the endorsement of ministry
The board of Aneel (National Electric Energy Agency) approved on Tuesday (13.MAI.2025) the opening of public consultation for the tariff review of the one under the new concession contract, which still depends on decision of the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) and the signing between the federal government and the company.
The proposal foresees an average readjustment of 11.65% in the distributor’s fares, with an impact of 12.77% for consumers connected to the high voltage and 11.25% for low voltage. If approved, the new fare enters into force on August 7.
The public consultation will be open from May 14 to June 27. A face -to -face hearing will be held on June 5, in a place to be defined by the regulatory agency.
The renewal of EDP Espírito Santo’s concession agreement, whose grant wins on July 17, has a favorable recommendation from Aneel, but needs the endorsement of MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy).
EDP Espírito Santo serves about 1.75 million consumer units in 70 municipalities of the state.
CHANGES
After the new contract formalization, the company’s tariff revisions will be every 5 years instead of 3, as it was so far.
The inflationary index of reference will also be changed, with the use of the IPCA (National Consumer Price Index) in place of IGP-M (General Price Index-Market).
