Sowing cucumbers: What should you know

What to try with cucumbers to produce perfectly? Some plants are known for being very sensitive to transplanting. Such greenery is more practical to sow directly into the flowerbed than to try to grow seedlings and their subsequent relocation to the target habitat.

Some gardeners believe that even cucumbers are better to take root directly in the place where they will grow throughout the season. These seedlings do not buy or prepare the seedlings. The seeds sow straight into the ground, into a flower bed where they plan to grow cucumbers.

However, such direct sowing can only occur in May. In the case of growing in a foil or greenhouse, direct sowing is possible much earlier. Cucumbers are thermophilic plants and sensitive to large temperature fluctuations, so it is often not worth starting with sowing into the flowerbed or transplanting the seedlings too early.

Prepare the soil before sowing or planting. It should be rich, permeable and slightly acidic on nutrients. Cucumbers complies with pH between 6 and 6.8. Such a flower bed is ideally enriched with compost or well -matched manure. You can also improve the soil with crushed egg shells, ash or freshly chopped grass.

If you bet pre -grown or purchased seedlings, try not to break the root pack when moving the plants and plant the IS plant with the entire flower pot content.

The seeds should be sown to a depth of 2 to 3 centimeters. The ideal distance of the plants in vertical cultivation is 30 to 40 cm, between the rows then 70 to 100 cm.

If you sow cucumber seeds into the growing containers, remember that the root system needs a depth of at least 30 to 40 cm. Do not grow cucumbers in too shallow containers or bowls.

It is also necessary to water the cucumbers regularly and fertilize. You can do this with both mineral, industrially produced fertilizers and domestic, which can be prepared by IZ of common kitchen raw materials.

Cucumber care also includes regular control of plants and protection against pests and diseases. Do not underestimate it, spray the plants against pests and diseases by your choice.
