Former President also said he trusts the country’s permanent insertion in the international scenario and said there is a difference between what he called the ‘formal constitution’ and ‘royal constitution’
The former president of the Republic said he sees democracy in Brazil as “consolidated” and that pacification must enable advances for the country in the future. The statements took place on Tuesday, 13, at Brazil Week, an event organized by Lida-a group of business leaders in New York, United States. “Democracy is consolidated in our country,” said Temer. “Pacification can allow Brazil to remain the country of the future,” he added. The former president also said he trusts the “permanent insertion of Brazil in the international scenario”. Faced with governors, Temer stated that the country’s “great impulse” in the Brazilian states.
He also said that there is a difference between what he called “formal constitution” and “royal constitution”: while in the first case it is the written letter, the second case “reveals that Brazilian states grow enormously.” At the time, Temer was accompanied by the former governor of São Paulo, founder of Lide. The event received other Brazilian authorities, such as the President of the Supreme Federal Court (), and the President of the Chamber of Deputies (Republicans-PB).
