Estarreja: most polluted city in the country wants to dispense with environmental evaluation

Câmara says the objective is to improve urban management and facilitate the installation of new companies and infrastructures to support the energy transition

The Terreja Chamber has in consultation with the exemption of strategic environmental evaluation of the change to the detail plan of Quimiparque Business Park, informs the municipality on its website.

“As part of the Detail Plan Procedure of the Quimiparque Business Park (PPPEQ), a period of preventive participation will take place until May 22 for suggestions and information on issues to consider in the change,” says the municipality.

“These modifications aim to improve urban management and facilitate the installation of new companies and infrastructures to support energy transition, without major environmental impacts,” he adds.

“All interested parties can consult the terms of reference and opportunity and the reasoning report of the exemption of strategic environmental evaluation (AAE) in the Urban and Territorial Management Division or on the page of the Town Hall of Estarreja,” he says.

After the consultation period, the Terreja Chamber “will formalize AAE Dispensa Through a grounded technical report, to submit to the Portuguese Environment Agency for Ratification ”.

“The exemption of AAE for the change to PPPEQ is justified, ensuring the legal compliance and the efficiency of the adaptation of the Business Park,” he concludes.
