The partnership between Tennis stars Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic has come to an end. The former Scottish player said on Tuesday (13) that he is no longer coach of the Serbian, ending a collaboration that lasted six months, without any title.

Djokovic, 37, started working at the turn of the year with Murray, who built a prolific career and was number one in the world. In February, he said the pair would be kept for “indefinite time,” something that changed with bad start in the clay season.

The Serbian, current sixth in the world ranking, lost direct sets in the debut in his last two tournaments, the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 and the Masters 1000 in Madrid. Next week, he will play Geneva’s open before trying his luck at the France’s open at the Roland Garros complex in Paris.

He already has three titles from the prestigious Parisian tournament – and a total of 24 Grand Slam series, which brings together the four most important circuit championships. Before fetching the room from the 25th, he decided to say goodbye to Murray.

“I thank Novak for the incredible opportunity to work together and thank your team for all the hard work in the last six months,” said the 37 -year -old Scottish. “I wish Novak all the success for the rest of the season.”

Djokovic, who won 25 of his clashes with Murray, said he was grateful for the support of the former Rival, who retired as an athlete last year. “I really enjoyed deepening our friendship,” said the Serbian.

Novak arrived at the Australia Open semifinals in January, before an injury ended his campaign. He reached Miami’s Masters 1000 final in March, but his search for the 100th career title bumped into a defeat for Czech Jakub Mensik.

The Serb, who turns 38 three days before the beginning of the second Grand Slam of the year, has been visibly out of form since defeat in Miami. After the setbacks in Monte Carlo and Madrid, he was expected to play the Masters 1000 from Rome, but he gave up the tournament.
