One mega -operation Launched on Tuesday (13) by the Specialized Action Group on the Combating Organized Crime of the Public Prosecution Service of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Gaeco/MPRJ), with the support of the Coordination of Security and Intelligence (CSI/MPRJ) and the Civil Police, revealed a new dynamic in organized crime: criminals from other states are migrating to Rio de Janeiro and assuming leadership posts in communities dominated by trafficking.
Named plexus, the operation is fulfilled 22 pre -trial detention warrants and 21 search and seizure against members of an interstate cell .
Among the addresses, are mansions in luxury condominiums in Barra da Tijucain the West Zone of Rio. In one of the places were found large -caliber weaponry. See below:
The warrants, issued by the 3rd Criminal Court of Duque de Caxias, were also fulfilled in areas with strong trafficking, such as Grota, Itanhangá, Pavuna, Rocha Miranda, Benfica, Guadalupe, São Cristóvão and Riachuelo.
The targets work in Rio’s slums, such as the German Complex, Muzema, City of God, Penha and Duque de Caxias, as well as cities in Paraíba (Cabedelo and João Pessoa), São Paulo (Araras and Fazendinha) and Mato Grosso (Pontes and Lacerda).
The faction, according to investigations, had been adopting a strategy for importing criminals with experience and operational capacity of other states to work in Rio de Janeiro, expanding their logistics, command and shielding against state repression.
Two of these names gained prominence in the investigation: Jonathan Ricardo de Lima Medeiros, the “Dom”, identified as leader of the Paraiba Cell of the Red Command, and Luiz Carlos Bandeira Rodrigues, the “Da Roça”, acting linked to the community of Muzema.
Hidden in Complexo do Alemão, both coordinated the transport of drugs and weapons between states, the supply of Rio de Janeiro and sophisticated communities and money laundering operations, involving bank accounts and companies spread across the country.
Among the accused is also in addition to other fugitives from their origin states, incorporated into the criminal organization in Rio. All targets were reported by crimes such as drug trafficking, traffic weapon illegal possession association, illegal weapons trade, ideological falsehood and capital washing.
Authorities indicate that the faction acted with a high degree of professionalization, using safe communication tools, well -defined tasks division and asset concealment mechanisms.
According to researchers, the presence of leaders from other states has contributed to increasing the organization’s resistance to repression and expanding its performance beyond the Fluminenses borders.
