PAOK organized a sense of honor of Vieirinha, an idol of the club and former Portuguese international, who said goodbye to football last Saturday, after twelve times in the service of the Salonica emblem.
The ceremony, held at a completely crowded stadium, was attended by several figures linked to football, including Fernando Santos, who trained PAOK between 2007 and 2010 and directed Vieirinha in the historic conquest of Euro 2016 by Portugal.
On the pitch, the trophies won by the player were exposed during his visit to the club: two championships and two Greece bowls, testimonies of a career marked by leadership, dedication and love to the nightgown.
Vieirinha, who often wearded the captain’s armband, said goodbye with moving words, alongside his wife and daughter. Between tears and applause, Portuguese flags raised in the benches, in a moment of strong emotion for all present.
At 39, a brilliant chapter in the history of Paok and Vieirinha closes.
