Mujica’s wife, Lucia Topolanky, said yesterday afternoon that the former president was in “palliative care,” in an interview with Uruguaiana Radio Sarandí. Lucía said they “tried to keep him without pain, able to sleep and anxiety book.”

“The warrior has the right to rest,” he said in one of his last interviews when he asked to be left alone and said he was dying.

Among his last statements was the expression of the desire to be buried in the place where he ruled during the presidency and lived for decades, on the outskirts of Montevideo: “I will die here. There is a big sequoia out there. Manuela [sua cadela] It’s buried there. I’m filling the paperwork so they can bury me there too. And that’s it. ”
