The (Federal Police) launched on Tuesday (13) an operation to investigate an alleged scheme of improper appropriation of public resources by appointing ghost servers in parliamentary offices of the Legislative Assembly of the.

During the operation, called Vinculum, six search and seizure warrants were fulfilled in different locations, including the headquarters of the Assembly and residences located in the Novo Buritizal and Pantanal neighborhoods.

The PF estimates that the total amount diverted through the scheme exceeds R $ 50 thousand per month.

The TRE-AP (Regional Electoral Court of Amapá) determined the blockade of up to R $ 1.4 million in bank accounts, financial investments and other assets belonging to the investigated.

The names of the possibly involved parliamentarians were not disclosed.

The suspicion is that this practice aimed to deviate from part of the salaries paid with public funds.

According to the authorities, the “ghost” servers were allegedly obliged to pass a portion of their salaries to parliamentarians or intermediaries. Defected resources would then be used to cover personal spending and finance election campaigns.

This Tuesday’s operation aimed to deepen the ongoing investigations and collect new evidence that may prove the involvement of public agents in the illicit scheme.

Investigated can be responsible for the crimes of criminal organization, electoral corruption, electoral ideological falsehood and corruption of minors.
