Many people are still wondering where the pizza box belongs. It turns out that the thing is a bit more complicated than most of us would think. Check what container to choose.

A common mistake is to throw away packaging from pizza into paper container. Although the cardboard is well recyclable, not everyone belongs to the blue basket.

Where does the pizza box belong? You’d better check it out than to rely on feeling

Pizza is one of the most popular fast food of Slovaks. After it is eaten, there is a dilemma of what to do with the box. Although it is mostly made of cardboard, it should not automatically end up in a paper trash or paper waste (blue container).

  • Despite the fact that cardboard is a recyclable material, greasy stains cause the packaging to be recycled. Such a box must therefore be thrown into the mixed waste container, as the contaminated does not meet the conditions for further processing.

Not just a pizza box. How to deal with the remnants of the packaging?

It is also worth checking that there is no food or aluminum foil inside the box. If we remove it and the box is not contaminated, then we can put it in a paper container without remorse so that the box can be recycled.

  • Aluminum foil (aluminum foil) belongs to a yellow container (metals and plastics).
  • If we stay on the foil and in the box pizza – along with fat and cheese – should end up in the mixed waste trash.
