The deputy governor of Minas Gerais, Mateus Simões (Novo), said that the tariff war can open opportunities for Brazil, Simões highlighted the role of the state of Minas Gerais in products such as iron, coffee, soy and animal protein.
Participating in an event “Sphere Dialogues”, which brings together public and private leaders in New York, the deputy governor celebrated the initiative and said that the state is ready to assist the country in geopolitical challenges and also in the advancement of the sustainable agenda.
Simões cited conversations with financial institutions and investment funds. He also recalled investments already confirmed, as is the case of the $ 100 million agreement with Harsco Environmental for the production of sustainable asphalt in MG.
“Many investments in the food production chain in Minas Gerais being structured at this time, whether in fertilizers, in machinery or food processing. And the United States as the world’s largest food market player is very important in this new stage of Minas Gerais and Brazil as food suppliers for the world,” said Simões.
Despite stating that the scenario demands caution and generates doubts, the deputy governor reinforces that the state of Minas Gerais and Brazil are ready.
