2555 days. Almost 84 months. Or just: seven damn years. The Hamburger SV and his players, coaches, officials and fans have been waiting for this final whistle that long. And as referee Max Burda on Saturday at 10:24 p.m. the HSV game against SSV Ulm (6-1) final whistle, all dams broke. Thousands of followers of the traditional club stormed on the lawn in the Volksparkstadion. There were fans in the arms in the stands. They cheered. Screamed from happiness. Cried with relief. After seven years in the second division it was clear: Hamburger SV returns to the German Bundesliga!
