Ukraine asks Brazil to convince Putin to go to the meeting with Zelensky

Ukraine Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha asked Brazil on Tuesday to help convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to participate in negotiations in Istanbul, Turkey, this week and pressing for a 30-day ceasefire.

Sybiha said at X that during a connection with Brazil’s Foreign Minister, Mauro Vieira reaffirmed “President Zelensky’s readiness to meet Putin in Türkiye.

“I asked Brazil to use its authoritarian voice in its dialogue with Russia to make this high -level direct meeting happen,” he added.
