The May Land, also known as the Goat Fair, is back in Azinhal, in the municipality of Castro Marim, between May 23 and 25, at the Multipurpose Center, with a program that celebrates the best of the traditions of the interior Algarve, from gastronomy to popular music.
The event highlights the knowledge and flavors associated with the Algarvian goat, with a diverse program that includes concerts by national artists, handicrafts, regional products, bulls, animal exhibitions, folklore, children’s animation, equestrian demonstrations, showcooking and the traditional contest of the Algarvia goat.
The musical poster features well-known names of the National Panorama: Rebeca operates on May 23rd, Quim Barreiros takes the stage on the 24th, and the animation ends on the 25th with the Sons do Minho group, ensuring a weekend full of good mood and popular rhythms.
The program also includes the realization of the usual seminars, a space for reflection and sharing knowledge about the rural world, the indigenous races and the valorization of endogenous resources in the region.
The Aldeia do Azinhal, one of the most traditional in the county, thus again takes the protagonism with this initiative organized by and the Parish Council of Azinhal, which aims to preserve and promote the cultural and rural heritage of Serra Algarvia.
