The president (PT) signaled to assistants that the federal deputy () should be announced minister on the return of his trip to China. He would assume the General Secretariat of the Presidency in place of (PT), which has been in office since the beginning of the government.

The choice of the psolist for a ministry goes through a personal preference of Lula. In the race for the São Paulo City Hall last year, the president personally worked to support the Boulos candidacy, having conceived the composition of the plate that had Marta Suplicy in the vice. Under Lula’s influence, the PT gave up a candidacy in the largest city in the country to support him. Boulos reached the second round, but was defeated by (MDB), reelected with the support of pockets.
Lula has confidence and appreciation for Boulos. Last year, he campaigned for him, one of the few in which the president actually engaged – but in the final stretch was not São Paulo. Allies cited their health condition at the time when he fell into the bathroom of the Dawn Palace.
In 2022, during the government transition, Boulos was quoted to take on any ministry, having participated in the city working group. But that did not happen, since he was already the pre-candidate for the city.

According to allies, his intention is to revive the leftist electorate. By the time a government wing that is in the government threatens to join the president’s opponents in the elections, the strategy would be to consolidate the historical base to safely reach 2026. The idea is also to gain greater combativity on social networks against the Bolsanist artillery.
