The production index in construction registered a homologous increase of 1.3% in March, slowing 0.7 percentage points (PP) compared to that verified in February, the National Statistics Institute (INE) announced on Wednesday.
According to INE, the homologous rate of variation of the two elements that make up the index had softenings compared to February.
The building construction segment increased by 2.3%, a rate 0.7 pp below the previous month, while civil engineering went from 0.6% growth in February to a 0.3% reduction in the month under analysis.
In terms of contributions to the rate of homologous variation of the indicator, the construction of buildings represented 1.4 points (1.8 points in February), while civil engineering presented a deficit of 0.1 points (positive contribution of 0.3 points in February).
In terms of chain variation, the production index in construction went from 0.7% evolution in February to -1.6% in March, the result of 1.7% of the construction of buildings and 1.3% in civil engineering.
In March, the employment rate registered a homologous variation of 2.8% (2.0% in the previous month), while remuneration slowed 0.4 pp for a growth rate of 7.9%.
The monthly variation of the employment index was 0.9% (0.1% in March 2024), while the remuneration stood at 4.6% (4.9% in the same month of 2024), says.
