In New York, mayor says deputies should leave the “toxic agenda”
The president of the House of Representatives, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), said this Thursday (13.mai.2025) that the house spends “energy” on projects that do not produce “Absolutely nothing positive for the country”.
Motta was present at the “See Brazil Insights Forum” in New York. Also participating were the chairman of the Board of Directors of Bradesco, Luiz Carlos Trabuco, and the senator and president of PP, Ciro Nogueira (PP).
“I’ve been constantly repeating this, who is closer to me knows, how much I have divided with them the need to get out of a toxic agenda and enter a really important agenda for the country.”declared the deputy.
The deputy stated that in the House there is a “Polarization on the customs agenda” and one “Absence of strategic debate for the country”.
Motta did not mention any congressman in his speech, but said the situation in the House is “Deputy strike hunger”, “locking of criminal action from another deputy” e “Amnesty agenda”.
“You have a constant turmoil scenario that gets in the way than helps the guidelines that really matter”he declared.
Deputy Glauber Braga (PSOL-RJ) fell 8 days in protest against the revocation of his mandate by the House Ethics Council. The congressman had the appeal denied by the CCJ (Constitution and Justice Commission) and is waiting for the case to be tried by the Plenary.
Motta tries to bar the advance of the bill that amnesty those arrested for the invasions of January 8. The congressman discusses behind the scenes, with ministers of the Supreme Court (STF), a proposal to review the penalties of those involved in the extremist acts.
The suspension of the action against branch in the court, approved by the deputies on Wednesday (7.mai), was overthrown by the 1st class on Saturday (10.MAI). In a new clash between the powers, the mayor filed a lawsuit against the decision on 3rd (13.MAI).
