We plant this shrub on fertile, permeable soil with neutral or slightly acidic. There are really no special requirements for this.
When the plant develops leaves and buds, especially during drought, then it is worth watering it regularly. However, it does not require special fertilization. It is enough to feed this specimen once every 2-3 years with a universal mineral fertilizer.
It is worth regularly pruning Chinese kolkwitation, making an annual x -ray cut. We need to cut the oldest branches up to the ground, thus giving room for the growth of new shoots.
We make pruning after flowering, or early summer, shortening shoots by 1/3 of the length above a healthy bud. We also remove all exuberant growths, as well as damaged and intersecting branches.
