The Civil Police held on Wednesday (14) a new phase of the “Operation Containment”, in the West Zone of Rio, resulting in the discovery of a clandestine office of estelionatos and arrest of seven people in the communities César Maia and Fontella.
The action was conducted by agents from the Specialized Police (DGPE), the capital (DGPC) and Homicides and Protection of Persons (DGHPP) Specialized Police Departments, and focused on the criminal in the region. According to the authorities, the operation aims to dismantle the financial, logistics and operational structures of the criminal group.
In the Caesar Maia community, a man was arrested with an open arrest warrant for theft. Still in the same locality, police found a clandestine office used to apply blows.
At the scene, four people were caught in the act. With the group, dozens of cell phones were seized, which, according to police, were used in estelionate practices. The devices will now be analyzed to assist in investigations and identify potential victims and involved.
In the Fontella community, the agents arrested two suspects in the act, who will respond for association for drug trafficking.
According to the Civil Police, today’s action was based on intelligence information and ongoing investigations. The “Containment Operation” is a strategic initiative of the corporation to prevent the territorial expansion of the west. The investigations continue.
