Augusto Melo’s impeachment vote is already scheduled. The meeting of the Corinthians Deliberative Council will take place on May 26.
On January 20, the Corinthians council gathered at Parque São Jorge to vote for. After more than four hours, the meeting was suspended after the rite admissibility process passed 126 to 114.
Meeting processes
The meeting will be resumed with the word of the chairman of the Corinthians Ethics Commission, who will speak for up to 30 minutes. Soon after, Augusto Melo will have the word, also for 30 minutes.
After the parties speak, the counselors will vote on the dismissal or not of the president of Corinthians. The calculation and proclamation of the result will also happen on the 26th.
Impeachment Requests
Augusto Melo is responsible for four impeachment processes.
The first was in relation to Vaidebet, which will be resumed as cited in the material. The second is related to the lack of information about Timão’s financial pending issues.

- The repetition of previous managers, such as recurring problems at the base and political bias nominations, shows lack of learning and commitment to the club;

- The lack of transparency and answers to questions made at council meetings and in other instances is unacceptable.
Also according to official note, the fans made a series of requirements for the president, such as:
- Clear answers to pending points;
- An action plan with defined deadlines;
- The disclosure of the 2025 budget and presentation of quarterly reports.
Understand the case
On January 7, 2024, Corinthians announced the largest master sponsorship of Brazilian football with three years long. Much celebrated at first, the deal was gaining details and caused a lot of headache to Corinthian fans.
Amid several controversies, on June 7, after five months, the sponsor decided to terminate the contract with the Parque São Jorge club because of the suspicion of an orange in the contract signed between the parties.
Orange?
The controversy came to light after publication by columnist Juca Kfouri, from the UOL portal. The report states that the company Social Network Media Design Ltda, which brokered the agreement between Vaidebet and Corinthians, passed part of the value of the commission (paid by the club) to another organization.
The other organization would be Neoway Soluções Integrated in Services Ltda, a company that has as partner Edna Oliveira dos Santos, a woman who lives in Peruíbe, on the coast of São Paulo, and said, in an interview with UOL, to unaware of the case.
Prior to termination, Vaidebet had already sent an extrajudicial notification about the alleged case of “orange” in the club’s agreement with the organization. In the document, the company says the accusations violated an anti -corruption clause in the contract. Corinthians sent a note responding to the allegations of the alleged “orange” in the agreement.
