He argues that the STF’s decision hurts fundamental principles of the Constitution

Three days after the first class of the Federal Supreme Court () have rejected a maneuver of the House of Representatives in favor of the deputy, the mayor, announced his intention to bring the issue to the STF plenary. The Court prevented the approval of a resolution aimed at suspending criminal action related to an alleged coup, which would benefit branch and others involved, including the former president. “Through an argument of non -compliance with the Fundamental Precept (ADPF), to be judged by the STF plenary, we hope that the votes of the 315 deputies will be respected. The harmony between powers only occurs when everyone uses the same tuning and are in tune,” he said.

He argues that the STF’s decision violates fundamental principles of the Constitution and requests the total stoppage of the processing of criminal action no. 2,668/2025 until the mandate of branch closes. The mayor argues that the responsibility of deciding on the extent of the suspension is the House itself and criticizes the performance of the Supreme Court, noting that parliamentary immunity must protect the legislature from abuse by other powers. Although it seeks to avoid conflicts between the institutions, Motta faces opposition pressure so that Parliament’s position is defended.

If the proposal is approved in the House, this could open precedents for the locking of proceedings against other parliamentarians in the Supreme Court. The Liberal Party (PL) also requested the suspension of the lawsuit against the deputy and mentioned the possibility of requesting the lawsuit against former Minister Juscelino Filho, who was denounced for misappropriation of parliamentary amendments.
