The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said on Tuesday (13) that the first lady Rosângela da Silva asked for the word during a meeting with the president of China, Xi Jinpingto talk about TikTok.
At a news conference in Beijing, China, the Brazilian executive chief commented on whether the first lady would have addressed the Chinese leader to talk about the platform.
“I asked fellow Xi Jinping if it was possible to send to Brazil a person of his trust to discuss the digital issue, and especially Tiktok,” said Lula. “So, the Janja asked the word to explain what is happening in Brazil, especially against women and against children.”
The first lady even defended social networking regulation after an eight-year-old girl died in the Federal District after allegedly participating in a viral challenge in Tiktok involving deodorant inhalation.
Still in a press conference, Lula said the comment did not bother him, adding that the first lady would be more knowledge that he about digital law.

Leak
In answering the question, Lula demonstrated dissatisfaction with leaks of the meeting with XI, which would have only behaved ministers and close people.
“First thing that I find strange is how this question came to the press, because they were just my ministers there. So someone had the pachorra to call someone and tell a conversation that happened during dinner – something very, very confidential and personal. And then, I asked the question, it was not Janja,” said Lula.
“I saw in the story that a minister was bothered. If a minister was bothered, he should have sought me out and asked to leave. I would authorize him to leave there,” the president added.
