President spoke when completing his trip to China; Days earlier, in Russia, he had stated that Israel killed women and children “on the pretext” of also killing terrorists
The President (PT) renamed Israel’s performance in the Gaza Strip “Genocide”. The statement was made in Beijing on the morning of this Wednesday (14.MAI.2025) – Noite on Tuesday (13.mai) in Brazil.
Talking to journalists before leaving China, Lula stated that US President Donald Trump’s approach to Ukraine war is “important,” as he speaks of seeking peace. The president said he expects something similar in the conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Lula stated that Trump adopts a different speech from his predecessor, Joe Biden (Democratic Party), who “spoke every day” at war.
“With all the divergence I may have with Trump or he may have with me, I think his decision about the war [na Ucrânia] It was important. Because you had our friend Biden talking about war every day, talking about destroying Russia every day and Trump comes and says, ‘I need to make peace and stop this war.’ I thought it was great, ”said Lula.
“And I hope he [Trump] You can make a contribution to finish genocide, the word, I will repeat here, to finish genocide in the Gaza Strip. This is not a war, that is a genocide, ”he said.
Lula said that “the only thing he wants” is that the UN (United Nations) “make a decision” about the conflict in the Palestinian enclave. “And if Trump contributes to that … Now, if he wants to do that a resort, it won’t work,” said the president.

Jewish entity repudiates
A (Israeli Confederation of Brazil) as “anti -Semitic and irresponsible”.
In a statement released on Sunday (11.MAI), the entity held the president responsible for encouraging anti -Semitism among its supporters.

The entity stated that the president omits, in his speech, the responsibility of Hamas at the beginning of the conflict, which began on October 7, 2023 with an attack on Israeli territory.
“What is missing in President Lula’s lines about conflict is a truth: Hamas has started this terrible war and hides behind the civilian population and Israeli hostages to promote their vision, yes, to exterminate Israel and Jews,” said Conib.
