Menendez Brothers: New sentence paves the way for parole

A judge again sentenced Erik and Lyle Menendez to a 50-year sentence in life imprisonment for his parents’ murders in 1989, deciding on Tuesday that the brothers will be eligible for parole. The brothers served perpetual penalty without conditional freedom for the murders.

The surprising decision took place at the end of the first day of a two -day audience about the new sentence for the brothers, who were convicted of first -degree murder for the family home’s living room in Beverly Hills.
