Ambassadors of the Member States with the EU approved the 17th Package of Community Sanctions to Russia by Ukraine Invasionthree months after another, aiming to weaken the Russian economy and the funding of the war.
The president of the European Council considered on Wednesday that the approval of the latest package of sanctions against Russia is an “important agreement” and demonstrates support to the Ukrainian population. Already the President of the European Commission guaranteed that the Community block will “continue to press Kremlin” and that the new sanction package will “Restrines access to technology on the battlefield.”
“An important agreement was achieved today by ambassadors [dos países] European Union (EU) on the 17th Pack of Sanctions Against Russiaincluding measures to counteract Russia’s ‘ghost fleet’, ”wrote Portuguese António Costa on social networks.
“It is a strong sign that the EU is giving it that it will continue to support the population of Ukraine,” added the former Portuguese Prime Minister.

“I get the agreement on our 17th Package of Sanctions against Russia. We will further restrict access to technology on the battlefield,” wrote Ursula von der Leyen on social networks.
