The digital influencer Rico Melquiades, reality winner Fazenda 13, accessed an online betting platform and began playing during his testimony to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) in the Federal Senate, on Wednesday (14).
The unusual scene occurred after a request from CPI President Senator Soraya Thronicke (Somos-MS), who requested that Rico show how access to platforms works. The influencer unlocked the cell phone, opened his account and started the so -called “Tigrinho Game.”
In the early rounds, Rico lost, but then had a winning round. After winning, Thronicke asked the influencer to change the game, however, Rico refused.
“I’ve played, won and don’t want to play anymore,” he said, refusing the senator’s request to change game.
In another part of his, Rico denied using “demo” accounts – demonstration – to publicize online betting platforms.
“I know what a demo account is, but I have never used it. The demo account is an illustrative thing you disclose using the game. It’s a real, not fictitious account, but who hires is the one who sends login and password,” Rico told his statement to the Federal Senate.
Accounts “” are offered by platforms for influencers to show games to the public. However, these accounts operate with algorithms that make it easier, creating a false impression that it is easy to profit from betting – which can induce users to bet on real money.
During the hearing, he also said that his income is not limited to the dissemination of bookmakers.
“My money never came from the games. Before the bets, I participated in a reality show program in which I won and won $ 1.5 million. Leaving the program I also did many millionaire advertising,” Rico added.
