Russia announced a prompt and adequate response to the decision of the Government of Poland to close the Russian General Consulate in the city of Krakow.
“Warsaw continues to consciously destroy relations, acting against the interests of citizens. There will soon be an adequate response to these inappropriate steps,” said Russian diplomacy spokeswoman María Zajárova, commenting on the decision of the Polish authorities.
The Poland Foreign Ministry announced Monday that the Government has decided to close the Consulate of Russia in Krakow as retaliation for the alleged involvement of Moscow in a fire that destroyed last year a shopping center in Warsaw.
The Polish government claims to have evidence that the fire was an act of sabotage ordered by Russian security services.
“Now we know with certainty that the great fire of the Marywilska Shopping Center in Warsaw was intentionally and ordered by Russian special services,” the Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk wrote in X.
The head of the Government added that some of the authors have already been arrested, and the others are identified and sought after. “We will catch them all!”
