The Estonian army said on Wednesday that the Russian fighter disrupted the airspace of the Baltic country, which is a member of the EU and NATO, reports TASR according to the DPA report.
Suchoi Su-35 combat aircraft entered the Estonian airspace without permission to less than a minute on Tuesday in the evening above the Baltic Sea near the Juminda peninsula in the north of Estonia, specified the Estonian armed forces.
“From the perspective of Estonia, this is a very serious and regrettable incident that is absolutely unacceptable,” said Foreign Minister Margus Tionkna.
The army claims that this was the first such disturbance of the country’s airspace by Russia this year.
The fighter did not submit a flight plan, had electronic identification turned off and did not maintain radio contact with Estonian air traffic control, the army said, according to DPA Estonia.
