President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini ratified a reinforced partnership agreement and cooperation between the European Union (EU) and its Member States on the one hand and the Republic of Kyrgyz on the other. Informs about it on his website.
The head of state ratified the agreement on 9 May. “The agreement is an important step towards strengthening the EU’s political and economic cooperation with Central Asia. By deepening political dialogue and strengthening cooperation in a wide range of areas, it will be the basis of more effective bilateral cooperation between the EU and its Member States and the Republic of Kirgyz, ”the material said.
At the same time, the agreement regulates cooperation in areas such as trade, energy, education, science, research, environment, health, employment, transport or security cooperation. It also deals with issues of legal cooperation, rule of law, money laundering and financing of terrorism, organized crime and corruption.
The strengthened agreement is to replace the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between European Communities, their Member States and the Republic of Kyrgyz, which came into force on 1 July 1999.
