The governor of Rio de Janeiro, (PL), spoke on his social networks about the action of the Special Operations Battalion (Bope) that killed Thiago da Silva Folly, the “Th da Maré”, named as the main leader of one of the factions of the Maré Complex. In his X (Twitter) profile, the governor says, “The tramp resisted prison shooting the police and was neutralized.”

Some profiles responded by congratulating the action, while others criticized police violence in the state. Other comments in the publication agreed with Bope’s stance, but asked for more repression actions against organized crime.
Thiago da Silva Folly, known as “Th da Maré”, was killed on Tuesday during Bope’s operation against organized crime. The action was carried out in the Maré Complex, north of Rio de Janeiro. According to the State Civil Police, armed criminals shot the police. Folly was killed during the confrontation.
