The first class of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) unanimously decided to suspend the criminal action regarding the former director general of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (ABIN) and federal deputy Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ) for the crimes he was accused of committing after being a parliamentary graduate.
The virtual trial ended on Tuesday. Alexandre de Moraes, Flávio Dino, Luiz Fux, Cármen Lúcia and Cristiano Zanin voted in this sense.
Ramagem will have locked until the end of its parliamentary mandate the process of processing the crimes of damage qualified by violence and serious threat against the union’s assets and with considerable damage to the victim and deterioration of overturned assets.

Thus, the federal deputy will continue to be responsible for the crimes of violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, attempted coup and criminal organization.
The STF’s decision was another chapter in the clash between the Legislative and Judiciary Powers, when former President Jair Bolsonaro’s allies seek to articulate the approval of an amnesty proposal to convicted of the January 8 attacks on the three powers, which could have an effect on acts practiced before that.
The first class rejected a request from the House to ensure a broad locking of the criminal action that would benefit branch, Bolsonaro and six other defendants of the criminal action for attempted coup.
