The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) has notified about 100,000 retirees and pensioners in Acre to check for possible irregular discounts on their benefits. The measure seeks to combat fraud committed by associations that, without prior consent, make monthly charges through the payroll of beneficiaries.

The case came to light after the retired João Claudio Bento Gomes, a resident of Cruzeiro do Sul, denounce discounts made by entities he was unaware, such as the Brazilian Retired Association, which would be withdrawing $ 13 monthly from his benefit. Another example is the Master Benefits Welfare, which made a discount without authorization and is not even in the victim’s history.

According to complaints received by the Feijó Rural Workers Union, many of the notifieds are fishermen and interior workers, frequent targets of this type of coup. The Acre Fisherman Federation estimates that about R $ 85 are discounted monthly from thousands of retirees without any legal justification.
The INSS guides that those who received the notification should access the my INSS application or call 135 to check the origin of discounts. If you identify any suspicious charge, you can request the return of the amounts and register a complaint on the Fala.br platform or with the Union Ombudsman (CGU).
The operation is part of the national effort to combat social security fraud. To date, more than 473,000 policyholders across the country have contested discounts considered improper.
