Americanas () has launched its new credit card, the Customer Card • A, with the objective of expanding the possibilities of purchasing millions of customers across the country, according to the company.

The payment method is available for hiring in all about 1,600 brand stores in the country, on the website and app, and offers installment up to 12 times without interest, highlights the company in a statement.

The company’s expectation is that 1 million cards will be issued in the first 12 months. The initiative is a partnership of Americanas with the BrasilCard card administrator and Visa, and is part of the retailer’s loyalty strategy, focusing on expanding customer relationships, increasing recurrence and profitability.

The consumer can use the customer card • A in the physical store, the site and app of Americanas and other establishments accredited by Visa. Customers will accumulate points that can be converted into discounts for payment of invoices, as well as being used to purchase products and services. Among other benefits implemented in the first half of this year are functions such as exclusive discounts and differentiated forms of installment. In the second half, customers will also have access to advantages such as the point accelerator, among others.

“The card is the protagonist of our loyalty program,” said director of operations, Fernando Soares, at a conference with investors and analysts after.

The executive mentioned that the credit card was made in partnership with Administrator Brasilcard, which claims to have more than 2 million customers.

The executive, who spent a month in China earlier this year, said the company went to look for product assortment alternatives and that the next important sales event in the American calendar this year will be the July holiday period. The company also intends to include the Halloween event, increasingly present in Brazil, in late October, in this year’s sales campaign calendar, said Americanas President Leonardo Coelho.

At 1:48 pm (Brasília time), American shares showed 7.84%, quoted at R $ 5.29.
