Award that recognizes states that develop impact policies for the population has extended registration

The Public Leadership Center (PLC) extended Registration for the Excellence in Competitiveness Award, in the “Highlight Good Practices” category. The award recognizes states that stand out in the priority of competitiveness by defining their agendas through high impact public policies, directly influencing the indicators of the ranking of competitiveness of states. Esfacing It will be the 9th edition of the award in this format. Since its inception, in 2015, the award has more than 900 initiatives sent. In the 2024 edition, it had 292 good practices registered from 24 states and by Federal District. Just like last year, there is no limit on registration by state.

Some states have been highlighted by the significant number of registration over the years. Maranhão (53 registrations), Alagoas (41), Paraíba (35), Paraná (35), Rio Grande do Sul (32) and Piauí (26) are among those who participated the most. This high number demonstrates a strong engagement of these states in the search for good practices and innovative public policies.

In the highlight category good practices, the award recognizes the federative units that develop Impact policies within the topics that make up the 10 pillars of state competitiveness ranking.

Six good finalist practices will be selected by the PLC team, and three of them will receive the award at the launch event of the 2025 state competitiveness ranking. In addition, finalist public policies will also be published on the award page as an example of strategy impact that can and should be replicated.

Good finalist practices in 2024:

Automatiza.MG (MG)

The Automa.MG project, finalist of the excellence in competitiveness award, uses process automation and artificial intelligence to optimize the work of public servants. Started in 2023, the program has already trained about 770 servers and created more than 30 robots that significantly reduce the time required to perform processes, increasing the efficiency of the Minas Gerais public service.

CAREN (GO)

The Caren tool, an artificial intelligence developed in Goiás, aims to reduce child mortality by informing and guiding the level of care needed for newborns. Technology ensures that babies receive proper and personalized care, contributing significantly to neonatal health in the state.

Projetek (pr)

Projectk, implemented by the Government of Paraná, offers support to municipalities with less than 30,000 inhabitants in the elaboration of public works projects. Using BIM methodologies, the program contributes to fundraising and urban development, promoting smarter and more innovative cities.

Pernambuco Zero Dump (PE)

The project “Pernambuco Verde: Zero Dump” has managed to eliminate all dumps in the state, ensuring that urban solid waste is intended for licensed landfills. The initiative involves the collaboration of the Public Prosecution Service of Pernambuco and other entities, increasing the percentage of proper disposal of waste from 16% in 2014 to 100% in 2023.

Intelligence Center (MS) Initiative

The GOVMS Intelligence Center program reorganized investments prioritization in Mato Grosso do Sul, applying result management methodologies. Real -time monitoring of works and comparing investment indicators per inhabitant allow evidence -based decisions, increasing the transparency and effectiveness of public policies.

Food Bank Initiative

The Maranhão Food Bank, coordinated by Sedes, combat has Hunger and food waste, distributing more than 1,257 tons of food since 2019. The initiative directly benefits more than 18,900 people in vulnerable situations, with a multiprofessional team that collects, selects, processes and distributes food to those who need it most.
