The death of Cerys, the first search and rescue dog of the Acre State Military Fire Department (CBMAC), generated commotion and exceeded the state borders, gaining national repercussion. The Leo Dias portal, known for the wide coverage of matters of public interest, highlighted on Wednesday (14) the dog’s trajectory, which pioneered the search, rescue and rescue with dogs in Acre.

In the publication, the site stressed that Cerys has served to the corporation since 2020, after being brought from the Pernambuco Fire Department Kennel (CBMPE), a national reference unit in operational dog training. In addition to the recognition for its work in rescue operations, the matter reinforces the camper’s fundamental role in the formation of CBMAC’s operational dog team.
The tribute paid to the dog was also shared on CBMAC’s social networks, accompanied by an official note that stressed the legacy left by Cerys at the institution.
