Thirteen people, among them four children and a 29 -year -old German, were injured by a zoo today in the south, according to firefighters.
Two of the injured were hit directly from the thunderbolt, firefighters said in statements to reporters, stressing that lightning hit a “flat and open” area of the La Barben Zoological Park, close to Ann.
Among the injured are four children, as well as a 29 -year -old German. She was accompanied by her sister and two children. The 29 -year -old’s health was considered “absolutely urgent” and was taken to a hospital in Salon de Prodan, always according to rescuers.
“The weather was good until an unexpected event, a storm, crossed the park around 15.00”, and the thunderbolt struck a path in the middle of the park, the Louis Spoon manager described AFPTV.
There were no disasters in infrastructure from the extreme weather phenomenon.
Powerful firefighters with 23 vehicles and 46 firefighters were developed in the area.
The events unfolded shortly before 15.00 local time (16.00 Greek time), while a large part of France has been put into a state of yellow alarm for thunderstorms.
Having opened in 1971, the La Barben zoo hosts 700 animals from more than 130 different species.
