Forget salty cakes and vegetable patties – you can prepare a surprisingly delicious ice cream from zucchini. Lightweight, gently sweet, without unnecessary sugar and so cream that you wouldn’t guess what was in it. The best part is that you can prepare it without ice cream.

At first glance it sounds like a joke, but zucchini has really worked in homemade ice cream. It does not have a strong taste, so it serves as a basis that naturally softens creamy consistency and at the same time adapts to any flavor. The result is a refreshing summer dessert that tastes even those who otherwise circumvent the zucchini with an arch.

“Zucchini is a source of fiber and a series of vitamins and minerals such as beta carotene, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium and vitamin C. Most nutrients are in the fetal peel, so do not peel the young zucchini and adjust with the peel,” says nutritional advisor Mgr. Zuzana Douchová.

The basis is healthy and fresh zucchini

The preparation is surprisingly simple. The basis is pre -cooked or steamed and subsequently frozen zucchini, which we mix together with a banana or avocado. This shamrock works perfectly – banana gives sweetness, avocado creaminess and zucchini volume and fine structure. If we add a little cinnamon, vanilla or cocoa, ice cream tastes almost like cream. Nuts, coconut or dark chocolate then highlight the taste and add texture.

An interesting tip is to boil briefly and then cool and freeze to get rid of the raw taste, but retain the structure. Then just a few minutes in the blender and ice cream is born. It does not have to sweeten – the banana usually can handle it itself. And if you still want something extra, a few drops of maple syrup or honey give the ice cream fullness without being sweetened.

No cream or sugar

In addition, zucchini ice cream is also suitable for those looking for healthier variants – it does not contain cream, sugar or artificial ingredients. Yet it is smooth, fluffy and really good. The best tastes fresh, right after preparation, but can also be placed in the freezer and served later. Although it does not seem, this simple yet unusual goodness can easily become a hit of your summer.
