A group of seven parliamentarians-Federal Deputies Duda Salabert (PDT-MG), Camila Jara (PT-MS), Dorinaldo Malafaia (PDT-AP), Duarte Jr (PSB-MA), Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP) and Pedro Campos (PSB-PE), as well as Senator Alessandro Vieira (MDB-SE)-presented a new package of legislative initiatives to restrict Sports bets online.
The Bets are the subject of a CPI in the Federal Senate, which received, on Tuesday (13), the influencer Virginia Fonseca for clarification and, on Wednesday, the rich Melquiades influencer.
According to parliamentarians, “it is up to the National Congress to adopt a firm and preventive posture to promote responsible sector regulation and defend the rights of childhood and adolescence, as well as protect the mental health of the population.”
Projects presented
One of the projects, presented in both House, prohibits the commercial advertising of bets, products, services or arrangements of them. The exception is for game operators to expose their establishments, provided they consider the insertion of warning messages about the gaming risks, gaming awareness, as well as advertising for the public under the age of 18.
Another project deals with the limitation of bets, which may have monthly transfer limits to total prohibition of transactions. The limitations apply to those considered risk group, such as people registered in the cadunic or credit protection register, partners of companies in judicial recovery or bankruptcy, players suspended by court decision, among others.

The third project establishes that the betting agent should pass 25% of deposits made by the gambler to a owner savings account, creating a kind of compulsory savings, as an educational measure to encourage the habit of saving to the detriment of the risk of betting.
The fourth project prevents participation, as a partner or shareholder of a fixed quota betting company, occupants of positions in commission and duties of driving, head and advice, in the agencies and entities of the Federal Administration, as well as occupants of positions or competence for regulation or supervision of this modality of bets, and administrators of companies whose capital is constituted with public resources. It is a way of ensuring that these people who cannot favor themselves, favor operators unduly or even use privileged information.
Parliamentarians also referred an appointment to the Ministry of Health, suggesting that specific programs for training of SUS teams and partnerships with local governments for treatment and prevention of diseases related to addiction in games and bets.
