A listened to the chief of staff of the Director General of (Brazilian Intelligence Agency), Luiz Fernando Corrêa, and the agency’s general corregedor under the investigation into the so-called “Abin Parallel” and once again postponed the end of the inquiry.

Both Corrêa’s chief of staff, PF delegate Luiz Carlos Nóbrega Nelson, as the agency’s corregedor general, were summoned as investigated. The two gave testimony last week simultaneously.

The inquiry of “Abin Parallel” was opened in the first year of the government (PT) to investigate evidence that the agency was linked and used illegally by former president () and former director general (PL-RJ), now a federal deputy.

Since last year, however, police for alleged obstruction of justice. About a month ago, Corrêa himself and his former number two of his, Alessandro Moretti, simultaneously to the investigators.

The expansion of the inquiry comes from the government between Corrêa and the director general of PF, Andrei Rodrigues-and expanding the pressure on Lula, given the possibility of indicating the Chief of ABIN, regarded as a trusted man of the petista.

the two starred in a tense discussion against the president and the Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, after the revelation of an alleged hacker action of ABIN against Paraguayan authorities amid the negotiation of those of the Itaipu plant.

The PF has already indicated different dates for the end of the inquiry. The first of these, August 2024, was informed to the press by the director general of the agency. In December, on a balance of the corporation’s work, Rodrigues said there was an effort to finalize the case in 2024.

Earlier this year, the PF signaled that of investigations into the coup plot – which was discarded after, in February.

Throughout the investigation, the PF said it had gathered testimonials and documentary evidence and techniques that raise the suspicion that Corrêa and Moretti acted to make it difficult to investigate the case, which originated in the Bolsonaro government. Investigators also indicate that Abin acted out of law in its intelligence activities.

Near the Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes, Chuy assumed ABIN’s General Corregedoria in September last year for a two-year term as an appointment of the current board.

Nóbrega has been with Corrêa since the beginning of his management at Abin. He was PF superintendent in Rio Grande do Norte in the Bolsonaro government.

On the other hand, the CGU (Comptroller General of the Republic) began hearing agency servers as part of a disciplinary administrative process on the use of First Mile spy software during branch management.

The case was in the care of ABIN’s last general corrector-general, Lidiane Souza dos Santos, but was referred to CGU shortly before her departure from office last year.

Abin was sought by the report, but did not speak.

Since the history of First Mile has surfaced, intelligence officers argue that the problem is not the use of the tool itself, but the use of it for illicit activities, such as the monitoring of people without any justification.

The use of the program, now investigating the CGU, throughout the inquiry to give way to the calculation of dossiers made to meet Bolsonaro’s personal demands – to be against political disaffected or topics that interested him, such as alleged vulnerabilities in the electoral system.

An action that is being processed in the Supreme Court discusses the regulation of the use of this type of software by intelligence agencies.
