Planting time of cucumbers. Prepare home fertilizer and water the plants with it. A simple way to a heavy crop

You can plan in the ground in the second half of May, when the risk of spring frosts decreases. Before planting, the seedling must be hardened. Therefore, a week before planting, every day we gradually reduce the temperature (e.g. by ventilation) and reduce watering. We only irrigate the day before planting.

Where and how to plant cucumbers? Preferably next to these plants

We plant cucumbers in fertile soil best in the vicinity of other plants. Gardeners recommend that in addition to cucumbers, she also sowed in tansy, which scares off pests. Herbs – coriander, oregano or basil will also work – they will reduce the risk of diseases, e.g. powdery mildew. Cucumbers will also grow well with legumes, e.g. beans. It is a bad idea to plant them next to potatoes and tomatoes, which are exposed to fungal diseases and pests. Calenda and nasturtium will also be a good company for cucumbers. Flowers secrete a fragrance that repels aphids, nematodes and flour, and at the same time attract pollinating insects.

Homemade fertilizer for cucumbers. A simple way to get abundant crops

Bread, rolls, bread peels, and even crackers can be used to create a mixture rich in nutrients. The yeast contained in them is rich in proteins, amino acids, trace elements and vitamins that stimulate plants to grow. In addition, yeast included in bread sourdough activate useful soil bacteria and neutralizes pathogens. All this means that the plant processes and absorbs the nutrients needed for growth faster. The mixture prepared on the basis of bread is therefore an excellent natural fertilizer that provides abundant crops. It is worth using such a preparation especially in the initial period of vegetable growth. Cucumber cuttings will develop quickly and have a strong root system. The effect of bread conditioner can also be strengthened with iodine and ash. Such fertilizer will also protect cucumbers from gray mold.

How to make bread fertilizer for cucumbers?

You can use both fresh and stale bread to prepare bread fertilizer. Dark bread will be the richest in nutrients. But we can also add remains of crackers and white rolls to the mixture. Put the diced bread into a bucket, then pour water. Except that she only covers the bread. Then we put a plate on top, which we additionally load (just like when pickling cabbage). We leave for a week. After this time, strain the liquid. Dilute the concentrate in a 1: 3 ratio. Bread conditioner is best used on warm days. Heated soil is conducive to the action of yeast. If the soil is poor, you can fertilize it every 10 days. With fertile soil, you only need up to 20 days. We use the conditioner all the time of fruiting cucumbers.
