Defender Raúl Asencio, 22, and three other former Spanish club base players were formally sued for allegedly distributing a sexual video involving a minor. The formalization was confirmed on Wednesday (14) by the Instruction Court number 3 of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, in the Canary Islands. The athletes have not yet spoken. The case would have happened in 2023, when Asencio and his former teammates of the base categories Andrés García, Ferrán Ruiz and Juan Rodríguez would have released sexual images of two women, one of them, without their consent.
The situation was revealed in September 2023, when the mother of the minor reported the case in the municipality of Santa María de Guía, in the Canary Islands. At first, the authorities did not disclose the names of the athletes, only informing that a player from Real Madrid Castilla and three of team C were involved. The four were arrested at the Valdebebas CT, the club’s training center. According to a report by the local prosecutor, the judge responsible for the case decided to formalize the process by understanding that the investigations give evidence of the crimes of secret discovery without consent and violation of privacy (article 197 1 of the Penal Code), distribution and sending videos to third parties without warning or consent of injuries? of the Penal Code).
