Commentators José Eduardo Cardozo and Ana Amélia Lemos discussed, this Wednesday (14), in The Great Debate (Monday to Friday, at 11pm), if President Lula’s ear tug to ministers for the leakage of a complaint from the first lady Janja to Xi Jinping over Tiktok, shear to the government.
For journalist and former senator Ana Amélia Lemos, the repercussion of Janja’s intervention at the bilateral meeting overshadowed a trip that had an impeccable agenda so far. “The relevance of the visit ended up being sideways.”
Ana Amelia also estimates that Lula made a mistake further by revealing that she asked for a Chinese representative to discuss digital issues.
Commentator José Eduardo Cardozo rejected the idea that Janja’s comment would be a gaffe and minimized the impact of the episode on government.
“The first lady can’t speak? Where is the gaffe? If it was an official situation, not a dinner, surely the demonstration would be an offense to the protocol. But at a dinner, I think perfectly normal.”
