In permaculture, there are often more functions that a plant or garden element can bring to you. And one such interesting multipurpose can bring you beans.

Why let the beans go after the tip?

The main reason and motivation to get into the tip is to create a new garden element for resting and playing children. At the same time, the tubes are visually attractive. Bean tipi is very quickly created compared to willow buildings and if you stop entertaining, you can easily cancel or move to another location.

Another advantage of bean tipi is the extra cultivation space. By growing beans, you will not occupy a place in a vegetable flower bed.

What is such a guy?

The tip is a cone -shaped design made of bars, most often hazel in our conditions. The shape of the guy is inspired by traditional Indian tents. The rods are tied at the top and the resulting taps serve as a support for climbing plants. Plants can grow upwards thanks to the support and save a valuable place on the ground.

As for the preparation of the bean tipi to prepare:

  • long hazel bars
  • coconut rope and jute string
  • bean seeds

Tip: An alternative to the beans can be pears, Akokča, Caucasian spinach or hops.

How to make a bean tap step by step

1. Selection and preparation of the place

In order to function as a gazebo or a tent for rest and games, it should stand on a flat or only on a very slight slope. Select the beans in direct sunlight. The beans are solicular and need at least 6-8 hours of sunlight per day for optimal growth and development.

2. Create from the rod of the structure

Tie the hazel rods with a length of 5 to 6 meters at a level of about 50 cm from the end to each other and put the bundle. Stir the bars in the bundle to create a regular pyramid with a base of 150 to 200 cm in diameter. In the base you can have a rod roughly every 30–50 cm. The space between the rods can be transversely interconnected by a thinner Jute string after which the beans will also be able to pour.

3. Create a flower bed around a tipi

Remove just around 30 cm in a width of about 30 cm. Cower the ground and fill the depression with a substrate. Add to the place of organic matter – compost or comprehensive manure. The soil will be more fertile and will better drain water. Around the beans, hang about 15-20 cm apart around the Teepee base. You can drain them one by one or make nests of 3 seeds. Pour sowing and protect from slugs. After opening, check the soil moisture around the tip and irrigate as needed.

If you are not sure that you will prosecute slugs, secure sowing and subsequent young plants with copper collar or spilled granules Neudorff ferramol.

Alternatives

Instead of beans, you can grow steep varieties at the tip pea. There is an attractive pod -pod with blue Blauwschokker pods or sugar oregon Giant. Peas are only about 2 meters high. It will cover only smaller and lower tipi (about 200 cm in diameter).

Another suitable crop for bean tipi is Acokča. It is beautifully pouring up to a height of over 3 meters.

In the shady parts of the garden you can let the týpí rush around caza spinach. But it is an edible perennial, so it is necessary to count on a longer life of the tip on the spot.

The second alternative from perennial climbing is hops. He likes the sun and pops up to 10 meters (newly bred varieties only about 4 meters).
