The Cuban Resistance Assembly (ARC) and the Ukrainian parliamentarian Maryan Zablotskyy denounced this Thursday in Miami (USA) that Russia has recruited up to 20,000 Cubans, of which between 200 and 300 they have died, for the war against Ukraine with the support of the Government of Cuba.
“This is a shocking number and no nationality, except for the North Koreans, it even approaches the volume of combatants that Russia is trying now,” Zablotskyy said in a press conference, in which he participated virtually.
Estimates come from data from the General Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which reported a list of 1,028 Cuban mercenaries with contracts with the Russian armed forces between June 2023 and February 2024.
